The Walking Dead Webisodes 1, “A New Day”

‘This story, made exclusively for the web and directed by Greg Nicotero, tells the tale of one of The Walking Dead’s most iconic walkers. In episode one ‘Hannah’ awakens to find her kids missing after a violent car accident.’

OK. First, these webisodes are pretty darn good. Second, I wear the “Bicycle Girl” T-Shirt all. the. time. Have gotten some interesting reactions as it’s not a typical look for my suburban-mom-type environs. Third. Hannah/Bicycle Girl is ‘the most iconic walker‘!?! Geez Louise, it doesn’t get much more ironic than that (see photo)! Finally, I so loved the scenes in The Walking Dead – Season 1 Episode 1, where Rick Grimes first uses the bicycle and then returns specifically to ‘put down’ Hannah. Much of the beauty of The Walking Dead is it’s humanity. The killing of biter/zombie/walker Hannah was actually a very poignant moment. Where else  can you watch zombie action and feel sorry for the zombie?
