LOST Video: “The Ben We Know May Not Even Exist”

In this week’s episode of Getting Lost, Matt Mitovich speaks with LOST’s Doug Hutchison, Horace, about what happened to Olivia. Plus, Sterling Beaumon helps answer the question, how could young Ben be dead? fromtvguide

In the little phone interview that Matt Mitovich conducted with the teenager who is playing “Young Ben,”

Sterling Beaumon, besides assuring us that he (Sterling) will be in the next two episodes of LOST,  he goes on to say, “The Ben we know make not even exist.”

It’s worth a short ponder despite Dr. Dan’s previous declaration that “whatever happened, happened.”

Synopsis: of 3/25/2009: He’s Our You Season 5, Episode 10
One of the survivors goes rogue and acts alone, risking the lives of everyone on the island. Roger Linus: Jon Gries. Young Ben: Sterling Beaumon. Young Sayid: Anthony Keyvan.

At one point in this eppy when the uncooperative Sayid is brought to “Oldham” to be force-fed truth serum, I recognized guest star William Sanderson yet again in the surreal way in which I did when he popped up as one of True Blood‘s finest. (BTW, if you have not watched HBO’s True Blood yet, why aren’t you?!) The actor appear to have not aged a day in 30 years since playing the doomed Toymaker in the film “Blade Runner.” The reason why of course, is that in Blade Runner, one of the best Science fiction films of all time, Sanderson played a man in his 20′s with a premature aging disease. Even though he’s done a lot of network television in the past decades in my mind he would be most recognizable now that he’s aged into how his character looked 30 years ago–which kind of fits LOST with all it’s goofy time jumping.

Possible Spoilers-
An ABC insider confirms that Lost will begin filming a wedding ceremony later today that is slated to air during the show’s two-hour finale on May 13. Who’s getting hitched? Here are a pair of clues: Actors of Asian-American descent are being sought to play extras, and the wedding will take place on the mainland, not the island. That pretty much rules out Jack/Kate or Sawyer/Juliet. "One theory is that it’s a flashback to Sun and Jin’s wedding whispers a Lost insider. But the wild rumor is that Sun and Jin’s daughter will marry Aaron in the future.

I agree that this is *probably* a flashback and it could be Jin and Sun’s wedding but how/ why that would fit into the story I really don’t know. Is Jin dying? In re: the wild rumour that Sun and Jin’s daughter will meet and marry Aaron in the future–I think that idea is plausible for LOST but not in Season 5, rather it sounds like potentially more of a tie up to the last bits of the story in a Season 6-ender.
