The Death POLL Sons Of Anarchy Season 4

[polldaddy poll=5698356]

We saw again in SOA episode 12 on Tuesday that anyone is fair game for a visit from the Grim Reaper. Opie Winston (Ryan Hurst) attempted to kill Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman) after finding out that Clay has murdered Opie’s dad, ‘Piney,’ (William Lucking) making it now two of Opie’s immediate family members that Clay has been responsible for terminating.

I think despite her protestation to the contrary, that the Clay shooting was orchestrated by Gemma. (I’m not calling it a ‘kill’ until/unless he is dead: look closely at this shot which strongly indicates his continued presence. Wasn’t it just days ago that he was running around in the hills clad in Kevlar, playing war games? Hm.)

From her kiss-off of Clay, to her pointing first Opie, then Unser in Clay’s direction. She told Unser after Piney’s murder and her beating at Clay’s hands that ‘a Son’ would take care of Clay and it served Gemma’s purpose that Opie be the chosen S/son.

Andrew Lincoln as 'Rick Grimes' in AMC's The Walking Dead - Episode 2.06 'Secrets'

From the direction episode 2.05 of TWD was headed as well as after reading the buzz around the episode and watching the cast/creator interviews, a couple things come to mind. Michael Rooker (Daryl’s bro, Merle) will absolutely be coming back to The Walking Dead. He cut off his hand in the city where he could have gotten medical supplies and he is certainly mean enough to qualify as ‘too mean to die.” Besides, I think Kirkman & Co. have big plans for him. Think of Daryl as the ‘light’ in that brotherhood.

Second, I’m starting to feel that TWD is going to go for what Jon Bernthal as Shane has suggested: Little Sofia is dead. Worse, she could be a walker—IN THE BARN! That totally gives me goosebumps which of course is the point of the zombies being in the show. Beyond that though, such a scenario would be more in keeping with the no-holds-barred style of The Walking Dead comic books. It would be perfectly awful. And that sounds just about right.

Kirkman Talks About How ‘Shane’ is Changing The Walking Dead:

As fans of The Walking Dead comic series know, Shane (Jon Bernthal) has out-survived his comic counterpart by far. His survival has altered the direction of the Dead mythos from the comics and shaped the AMC series into something comic creator Robert Kirkman calls creatively fun for him.

“From the comic book standpoint, he’s living on borrowed time, but the beauty of the show is that we can change things up,” Kirkman tells us.

In the comics, Shane met his maker in Issue #6, before the survivors made it to the Greene farm. His presence on the farm in the television series lead to the early demise of farmhand Otis (Pruitt Taylor Vince), who survived much longer in the graphic novels. “The storyline with Otis and all of the different things that are happening on the farm because of Shane’s presence are a pretty clear indication that this guy is a pretty good catalyst for story,” Kirkman says. “Watching him change how the stories were told in the comic book is a lot of fun for me.”

Michael Rooker as 'Merle Dixon' and Norman Reedus as 'Daryl Dixon' in TWD Episode 2.05

Michael Rooker!

ROBERT KIRKMAN: Exactly, right? It’s unfortunate that it was just a vision, a hallucination of some sort. But having him back in the show was an absolute delight. Hopefully it will happen again at some point soon.

I love the way you say “hopefully” as if this has nothing to do with you.

ROBERT KIRKMAN: [Laughs] I’m trying to be coy! My favorite thing was that we hadn’t ever seen those characters interact. I guess we still technically haven’t. But this is the first time Rooker and Reedus have been in a scene together, which is really cool.

Did you know Rooker has his own gun range?

ROBERT KIRKMAN: I would not doubt it.

There’s actually some impressive YouTube footage of him shooting a human tooth out of a zombie target.

ROBERT KIRKMAN: I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that Rooker has his own private island where he hunts human beings. All I’m saying is that Rooker might be the most interesting man in the world.
