It was reported earlier today that Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill are to leave Doctor Who next year. The news was announced at the press screening of this year’s Christmas Special, but Steven Moffat wasn’t done with the announcements…

Matt Smith as Doctor Who filming the Christmas Special: As previously noted, Matt Smith is back in action as Doctor Who–starring in the 2011 Doctor Who Christmas Special. These are cool and not of the quality of set photos taken on the sly. I assume street scene + long lens in good hands = Good [...]

I hadn’t realized that back in July at the SDCC 2011 she in fact DID confirm her participation in Doctor Who Series 7. Matt Smith (‘The Doctor’) had already been confirmed as returning.

But considering the number of times they brought back ‘Martha,’ ‘Rose,’ ‘Donna Noble,’ ‘Captain Jack’ & ‘Mickey’ at least a couple of times as non-companions, it is impossible to say we have seen the last of them come Series 6′s end.

I’m just realizing (realising?) that here in the States we have 2 more episodes of Doctor Who to watch, this one episode 6.07, and 6.06, ‘The Almost People’ (Part 1 aired 2 weeks ago). Kind of dumb the way they are doing it but kind of awesome that we still have 2 weeks left to watch original episodes of Series 6 Doctor Who. (Technically, that means we have to wait a week less for the fall half of Series 6 to air as well. So, yay!

More juicy clips from this week’s episode of Doctor Who Series 6, ‘The Curse of the Black Spot.’ It seems not only do Captain Avery’s (Hugh Bonneville) crew continue to answer the siren’s call but in clip 2 above we can see that Rory has fallen under her spell as well.

In interviews running up to Doctor Who, Series 6, several of our heroes’ real-life counterparts mentioned that so far in this series, Episode 3, ‘The Curse of the Black Spot,’ had been the most fun to make. Based on the photos and info. ( slight spoilers) shown both here and previously, it’s easy to see why.

All the gingers running about in this show have made it quite confusing to sort possible identities out. Just who is this little girl that appears to be regenerating “6 months later?” Is the 6 mos. later 40 years ago?

Full HD Doctor Who Series 6 Episode 2 ‘Day of the Moon’ BBC/ BBC America Trailers: Doctor Who Series 6 Episode 2 Day of the Moon BBC One Trailer Pretty neat I think, that with Doctor Who running more or less simultaneously both here in the U.S. and in the U.K. that we get to [...]

Gillan looks decidedly ‘piratey’ here, no? Doctor Who – Series 6 Episode 3 – ‘The Curse Of The Black Spot’

Doctor Who: Insider Part 4 — The Companions 2011 Behind-the-Scenes

Exciting! Only 3 more days (US – Central time)!

I now understand what was up with all the previous promo and BTS shots that showed water in the background–like it was a big deal. I couldn’t guess why–until now. I think this shot takes care of that question, don’t you?

Doctor Who’s Matt Smith, Karen Gillan & Arthur Darvill Beatbox in a Lift:

No more River Song blowing at the gunsmoke near the top of her revolver after shooting Doctor Who’s ‘cool’ Stetson off his head whilst making her entrance (and shove it with the phallic symbolism).
