‘Oceanic 815 – Side by Side’
Here’s a fun video in which you can compare footage from the original scene of the breaking up of Oceanic Flt 815 with the parallel universe or sideways scene from Season 6, episode 1, ‘LA X.” Spot the differences.
According to the show runners the only significant-to-the-storyline difference is that Jack got one mini bottle of vodka from flight attendant Cindy versus the scene we saw of 2004’s pre-crash where she gave him two. I’m not gonna obsess about it, only note that the wigs and hairstyles are awful, Sun’s in particular (she’s not in this segment of the scene. You’ll have to watch the episode in full).

‘The Variable’
‘The time of reckoning has begun when Daniel Faraday comes clean regarding what he knows about the island.’

One of my favourite post Season 1 episodes was Season 5’s, ‘The Variable,’ which gave Jeremy Davies some decent screen time as Dr. Daniel Faraday. Dr. Dan turned out to be the previous unknown-to-us (though very strongly hinted at for some time) son of the steely, sort-of-spooky, Eloise Hawking (Fionnula Flanagan).

I loved the season and-a-half or so that Jeremy Davies was on LOST.
I find him very appealing. I’m sorry that the both the short and longer-term effects of the most recent writer’s strike sort of messed up his storyline.
