Lena Heady of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Welcome friend,

I am a product of the first “TV Generation.”

When I was little (around age 4)  I cut my teeth on television that my dad liked, with the most memorable shows being Outer Limits and the still-revered and ever-classic Twilight Zone. Then came Star Trek and well, you get the picture.

I don’t watch many television shows but those I do I watch because I have compelling reasons (which in the case of several installments of “Survivor” was because we watched as a family. I think/hope we are over it now). The shows I review have to be good or have the potential to be good, otherwise I give up on them.

I love going to the movies, which I realize is a becoming a sign of being “old.” The cool thing is I have a teenager who is into fantasy (books, games) and so our choice of films tend to go off in that direction, too. I review film and television soundtracks on another blog I write, Forever a Fangirl and I prefer to see the films and shows that the soundtracks accompany so everything meshes pretty nicely.

You’ll find that I tend to value well-written characters, truly talented actors, imaginative art direction and staging and so will put up with uneven storytelling in order to enjoy other aspects of a film or television show.

When I was younger I read a lot of what were then called comic books. I do believe some of them were very similar to “graphic novels” (which I do not currently read) and they too, influenced much of what I like.

Cheers!
