I only first heard of “9″ very recently whilst exiting the theatre where we saw “Up” (great flick–go straight to see it) when my son remarked that “9″ looked “interesting.” I figured it would be promoted when it was due to come out and I’d read more about it when it did to better acquaint myself. Thanks to scifiscoopI’m getting a jump on getting aquainted with “9.”
I have some other stills from “9″ that I’ll get up sooner or later. Here’s one.
“Shane Acker directs the “animated fantasy epic” “9″, a feature-length expansion of a short film of the same name” that was made by Acker back in 2005 (included this post). Produced by Tim Burton, Timur Bekmambetov, and Jim Lemley, the surreal tale takes place in a world parallel to our own, a post-apocalyptic fantasy in which a band of courageous rag dolls (raggies) battle against really nasty-scary killing machines. 9 (by Elijah Wood) is created to help protect the remaining raggies, but rather than guide them to safety, 9 convinces them that their only chance of survival is to fight back. From the clips I’ve seen it is pretty intense.
