My Favourite Post Secret This Week

Posted by: Caprica    in Post Secret, me

It’s really hard not to be amused by this Post Secret as it seems on the surface to be so nonsensical.

However, if you think a bit about stereotypes which I’m guessing the Post Secret writer has been exposed to regarding Chinese people, then some sense seeps in.

The reality too is that the Chinese military is known for it’s lack of fear in quashing public protest by means of violence–to quash anything that is out of line with the way Chinese people are compelled to behave (or else).  If I were to fear the Chinese it would be in the context of fearing living among them and being susceptible to the restrictions they endure as a way of life. I’d probably chafe at the bit and find myself in hot water awfully quickly.

Suicidal

I really wish that a very dear friend’s mother had felt the same way as the writer of this Post Secert in regard to being worried about “you’d have to clean up the mess I’d make.” His mother, with whom he lived at the time, took out a gun and blew her brains out all over the kitchen. It appalls me still that a mother could do that to her child.

Press Release:

This is an excerpt from a white paper discussing how bloggers can earn more money through several different monetization and freelance writing services. It shows that bloggers that utilize Dragon Naturally Speaking can earn more money through these various services and how fast these extra earnings will pay for the software itself.
Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 Blogger Break Even Analysis with High PayPerPost Earnings

In this article I’m going to walk you through another scenario focusing on how much extra you could earn if you wrote for PayPerPost.com. Now at PayPerPost.com, the amount of money that you earn for your writing is not paid on a per word basis.
PayPerPost.com offers up opportunities, they call them opportunities, but you can also think of them as piecework or a job, and these “opportunities” typically have a minimum word count. The minimum word count is typically 200 words for your average article. In general the average article at PayPerPost on a high earning blog pays about $28. Sometimes they pay a little less, and sometimes they pay a little bit more.
Now if you are paid $28.00 to write a 200 word article, which breaks down to about 14 cents per word. That is about 200 times more than what you can make at textbroker.com. I mentioned that only for comparison purposes, because PayPerPost.com limits you to writing three articles per blog per day. That means that you can’t write there all day long for your single blog. (If you have additional blogs, you might be able to write additional articles on those other blogs.)
But if we assume, just to have a comparison to our textbroker.com example, if we assume that you could type articles at PayPerPost for fifty minutes straight, earning 14 cents per word, and you could type 35 words per minute, and then you could earn a $245 dollars per hour at PayPerPost. Now obviously, there’s not that much work there, but this does point to the rate at which you can earn things with the work that is available. That $245 would be the earnings you could make from about 8.8 Opportunities at $28 per Opportunity.
So bear with me with this example. :-)
So what can faster typing skills do to help you earn more money and PayPerPost?
Well if you could type at 150 words per minute with Dragon NaturallySpeaking, and you currently type at 35 words per minute, then you could earn about $805 per hour more!
Reminder - This would assume that you could type articles nonstop at a hundred and fifty words per minute for fifty minutes. For most of us, that doesn’t mean a whole lot.
But to put this in better perspective, if you earned $245 from writing about nine articles, and those articles were each 200 words long, then you would have written a total of 1800 words.
• 1800 words can be typed and 50 minutes at 35 words per minute
• 1800 words can be typed in 12 minutes at 150 words per minute
Dragon NaturallySpeaking can essentially save you 38 minutes when you write nine articles.
Now with those additional thirty-eight minutes, you can spend more time:
• promoting your blog,
• networking with people,
• researching other projects,
• taking on other work from other networks
• building up a new blog to command $28 per article!
You can pocket your $245 from twelve minutes worth of work. You can then spend the rest of that hour, working to ensure that the blog you publish those on performs very well. But the point is this, Dragon NaturallySpeaking can save you so much time, that it will pay for itself very quickly.
Your average part-time blogger may easily afford to pay for Dragon NaturallySpeaking with the additional profits that they would earn from using Dragon NaturallySpeaking in less than 30 minutes worth of blogging.
:-)
Plus just think of all of the time, that you would now have to make yourself and your site even more successful!

If Dragon NaturallySpeaking sounds intriguing to you make sure to read over the the full white paper at at http://www.softduit.com/mavenmappersinformation/category/software/dragon-naturally-speaking.

Amazon Link for 10% Donation to Post Secret With Purchase

This is probably something a lot of people can relate to.  Because I live in a densely-populated area in a condominium and I like to allow as much light into the house as possible I keep the blinds pulled back–all the way open–so clothing-optional really isn’t a choice. However it is nice occasionally when all three males, teenage and adult, are not here and I can go from showering to my bedroom without being concerned about 100% full coverage. ;) I walk straightway into my bedroom bathroom from there–so really no chance of flashing. I do this not because I’m a prude–it’s to not scare someone should they walk by our first-story window and glance in!

The Post Secret above is a video still from the Columbine, Colorado  high school massacre.

I hope whomever wrote it figures out a way to be more than just one person for someone who sounds like a ticking time bomb.

I would at least try to ascertain if the person described as currently being kept from (shooting) up the school had the means to do so. Then there’s an obligation to let the authorities know.

Jeff Probst Blogs Episode 10

AN EVIL GENIUS ( Source)
“… Sugar and Bob sneak into the jungle for a chat. Sugar pleads with Bob to send Randy home next…  Bob confesses that he does not have the hidden immunity idol, and reveals that he… looked for it …but was unsuccessful.  Sugar is in possession of the hidden immunity idol, but has kept her discovery a secret from Corinne, Randy and Bob. As Bob’s story progresses, he reveals to Sugar that he has constructed a fake idol and shows it to Sugar. Sugar comments on Bob’s devious plans: “I guess Bob might have some kind of strategy in showing me the fake immunity idol. Maybe he’s an evil genius, I don’t know.”

After the auction-

Sugar, enjoying her PNB and chocolate

Sugar, enjoying her PNB and chocolate

After returning to camp, Matty thanks Sugar for the cookie. Randy snaps at Matty… expresses his resentment for Sugar: “I left the auction broke, full, half-drunk and pissed off. So I am going to burn this house down in the next day or so.”

Sugar laughs at Randy’s childlike fit over the cookie…the only reason I took his damn cookie is because he didn’t want to give me a cookie…because Sugar’s evil.”

Tribal Council-

At Tribal Council, Randy bickers about the cookie incident … Susie insults Randy… and says that she feels sorry for him…the rest of the tribe point out that Randy has been rude to Susie and the others… Before the votes are read, Randy plays Bob’s fake immunity idol, thinking that he has just blindsided Susie. Jeff reveals that it is not a true immunity idol, and Randy is humiliated as the rest of the tribe laugh at him. In the end, Randy was voted out with five of the eight votes cast against him. Randy Bailey, the 49 year-old wedding videographer from Eagle Rock, Missouri, became the 11th person voted out and third member of the Survivor: Gabon jury.

In Two Weeks:

Next Week:

Not a regular episode on Turkey Day. Instead well, you can read below for a description.

My guess is that it’s a lot of “extra” video that  is shown on the CBS website because a number of topics in the preview blurb are done at the CBS site.

It’s been my experience, with a couple of notable exceptions, that most of the Survivors, once they are out of the game are exceedingly ordinary–that is they are just average people though some of them granted, have accomplished much in life. But I don’t know them and I don’t really care about them other than within the context of Survivor.

Honestly, the only contestant out of  the previous 16 Seasons of Survivor that I think about is that horrible Elizabeth from Survivor 2 who is now–for what reason I cannot fathom on Barbara Walter’s show, The View.

THANKSGIVING SHOW
I Was Put on the Planet for This Show
Thursday, November 27 - 8 p.m. EDT

In a very special Survivor, never before seen footage reveals who the castaways are and how they came to be entrenched in the adventure of a lifetime together.
When the power shifted out of Kota’s hands, it landed in the unlikeliest hands as Sugar, Susie, Ken and Crystal took control of the merged tribe. New scenes shed light on their rise to the top.
Audition tapes and secret scenes reveal the deepest secrets, motivations, hopes and dreams of each castaway.

Angelina Jolie is not only promoting her film, “The Changeling,” the Clint Eastwood-directed film which she made over the period she got pregnant with the twins but she’s plunged back into charity travel and other good works.

Her next film may be Jolie’s last for a while though, as the actress said last week that she plans to “fade away” from acting in the years ahead.

In the meantime, Angelina has confirmed reports that she will replace Tom Cruise in the upcoming espionage thriller Edwin A. Salt.

The Mr. and Mrs. Smith star first took a shine to the role when Cruise dropped out. Once Jolie expressed interest, the film’s writers reworked the lead character — a CIA officer falsely accused of spying for the Russians — to be female. The film’s name will also be changed with the switcheroo.

“I’m working on a film called Salt,” Jolie said when asked about her next project during an interview on BBC Radio. “It’s with [Bone Collector director] Phillip Noyce. And that’s it.”

Yesterday Angelina Jolie, 33, attended a press conference in London to speak about her Clint Eastwood-directed film, Changeling. In describing the Chritines Collins character she portryas in the film she brought up her own mother who died  prior to the filming.

My mom….there was something about her, Jolie said. Her name was Marcheline and everybody called her Marshmallow as a joke, because she was just the softest, most gentle woman in the world.

Bertrand passed away in January 2007, at age 56, after a battle with cancer. Jolie’s father is Midnight Cowboy actor Jon Voight, 70.

As the interview went on, Jolie began to choke up.

“Um…F*ck,” the Oscar winner cursed, attempting to hold back her tears. “[My mother] is very much… She is very much Christine Collins. She was really, really sweet, and, um, she would never get angry. She couldn’t swear to save her life. But when it came to her kids she was just really, really fierce.”

Jolie added that she related to her mother while playing Collins, and that her own mother “had that elegance and strength through just knowing what was right.”Jolie named one of her twins born in July—Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt—partially after her mother. Source

McAfee Online Coupons and Codes

Posted by: Caprica    in Internet, The 44th President, safety, software

Most online users have heard of McAfee and may even know where to get McAfee coupons or online coupon codes –which should be your stop when you are on your way to purchase McAfee fast anti-virus and anti-spyware protection and more.

But do you know about the latest enhancements to McAfee, including what Internet security experts agree is the best way to solve the huge security issues inherent in using the Internet? If the question is how do I enhance the safety of my browsing experience and protect my personal data ?, “encryption” has to be at least a part of your answer.

Did you know that the overall lack of Internet security is forcing President-elect Barack Obama to give up his Blackberry because we as a nation, do not have strong-enough encryption? Data must be protected by cloaking it and storing most of it in “the cloud of cyberspace,” according to a leading expert in cyber- security. Because there are a host of predators in all of cyberspace–not just commercial , governmental and military– but personal threats to your security, until a strong enough system is developed where the President can use his Blackberry–you should do everything you can to protect yourself including utilizing a product with a  proven track record: McAfee software.

Currently, McAfee is providing anti-theft encryption software that allows you to password protect files on your personal computer. These are part of a bonus Internet download which is just one way McAfee works to protect you!

The Fox Network recently announced its midseason schedule, and in case you are trying to remember what it was– besides the Friday night FOX death knell for both Dollhouse and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, here it is:

Joss Whedon’s highly anticipated but much delayed and reworked “Dollhouse” is going to air on low-rated Fridays. The “meh” rated “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” is also moving to Friday and will serve as lead-in at 8 p.m. Eastern to “Dollhouse” at 9 p.m. beginning in January, 2009.

“What are you doing here, Miss Vickers?” : Dollhouse video clip sans the annoying voice over and with lots of Tahmoh Penniket!

Also, in airing November 24, “Sarah’s obsession with the three dots leads her to a company that she believes may have Andy Goode’s Turk. Meanwhile, Jesse’s plans complicate things even further, and Weaver introduces Ellison to someone very important.”
