Kiper a/k/a “Sugar” on Survivor: Gabon Check out ” Sugar’s site. She’s the real deal–and a newlywed!
Hey, before I get started I wanted to clarify one detail. It seems that CBS considers the 2-hour Survivor 17: Gabon premiere to constitute only “one” episode–though they are not calling it that. I’ve surmised based on <big light bulb moment> the fact that this second installment of Survivor: Gabon is being called ” Episode 2.” So I need to go back and do some editing but just as well I caught it now than continue through the season completely confused.
The best part of Episode 2 was the most satisfying Exile Island “journey” I’ve yet seen on Survivor. After Team Kota lost the Reward challenge, Team Fang chose “Sugar” to be exiled. The lawyer guy from Fang had already been there and he came up with nada. Sugar however was undeterred. Despite getting off on the wrong track she readjusted after having a little talk with the camera guy about how her dad died 7 months ago and that she needed to grow a thicker skin and Survivor was a way for her to work through her grief.
She then promptly found both Clue #2 and #3 which had her digging in a huge crater and climbing a tree. Clue #3 sent her across a really nasty-looking river but on the other side was an ancient-looking tree that held the Immunity idol! Sugar is obviously smarter and braver than she’d seemed and I was genuinely happy for her. She also did a credible job of scamming everyone at the Immunity challenge by acting very miffed–to the point of tears for being sent to Exile. Good playing, Sugar! Hope you continue and go far! There were no good shots of Sugar available from CBS this week–but there are ton’s at Sugar’s MySpace under “Kiper.”
