Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and it’s excellent cast.
Summer Glau won her second Saturn Award Tuesday night at the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror’s 34th annual Saturn Awards, held at the Universal Hilton Hotel in Universal City.
Summer, in just a half-season’s work on Fox’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, impressed the Academy enough that they awarded her Best Supporting Actress on television, for which she tied with “Lost’s” Elizabeth Mitchell (also a high -octane talent, underused in her current role).
Some of Terminator’s cast as well as it’s showrunner had a number of juicy tidbits (mildly spoilerish) to share about the new season, which they’re currently shooting. I cherry-picked through for what I thought were interesting quotes. I really like the show and I think I like where their taking it especially with adding Dillahunt full-time. Great choice, fine actor. Can’t wait! (but sadly, must–like all mere mortals who cannot yet bend time <wink>)

Cromartie is back–full time!
The gifted and hunky actor, Garret Dillahunt is back FULL TIME as model T-888 terminator Cromartie!
Says Garret: “Cromartie’s back big-time. They made me a series regular.” Garret feels his character is not evil–just misunderstood. He said, “I like him. They’re really not bad guys—they’re doing their job. He has no hate in him. He’s like: ‘Look, it’s my job, sorry…Gotta snap your neck.’ ”

Here’s what Summer has to say about her character Cameron a female “good” Terminator, who when last we saw her appeared to go all splodey when, on her way to buy John a birthday cake, she turned the keys to Sarah’s car and a car bomb went off. According to Summer Glau, in this first full season of T:TSCC, “Cameron definitely has some issues after the explosion,” she said. “And everybody changes after the first episode.”
When asked about Cameron’s ability to access human emotion like jealousy, Terminator showrunner/creator Josh Friedman responded with, “I think if there were somebody else in John’s life that could cause strategic problems, I think that’s almost like jealousy, and she would work to eliminate that threat. I think we may see some of that this year.”
And what’s this “Garbage” About Shirley Manson?
Below: The new character, “Catherine Weaver,” played by Shirley Manson of band Garbage, in screen shot of a reflection in a huge fish tank (I know!). This is the best I can do for now though the character description describes a female, high-powered CEO of a high-tech something or other (robotics?) corporation. What is Shirley Manson wearing on her feet? And what’s going on with her pant legs in the cuff area? Are we not supposed to notice her bottom half?

Before~
Turns out that Josh Friedman’s wife is a long-time friend of the band Garbage’s lead singer and Friedman wanted to use her in the show. In Season 2 a part opened up and Shirley auditioned successfully. (Friedman explained that “it’s a pretty big part” so an audition was necessary.)
Some Terminator news from Kristin
Producer’s Blog - Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
OH, oh, oh. Another thing. The very same guy who composes the unique and pretty awesome music for Battlestar Galactica scores T:TSCC, too!
You must read composer Bear McCreary’s Blog for both Battlestar and Terminator!
He’s a total fan of the shows he writes music for and that just makes it all the better, IMO.
From Bear’s Blog in re: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles~
Great news! Warner Bros. and La La Land Records have come together to release my soundtrack album for “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - Season One.” This will include all the best musical moments from the first season, featuring all the metal-smashing-percussion and electric-string-quartet you can handle! The album release date has not yet been announced, but expect it before the end of the year.
It totally adds to the viewing experience, especially the second time. I usually read it right after viewing the first time ‘cos it’s full o’ SPOILERS <grin>. I hope he has the same freedom to write about scoring T:TSCC; I loved reading his “Bear’s Battlestar blog” during the just-ended first half of it’s last season (S4) of Battlestar Galactica.
