March: 2008 Evie and Dominic Together!?
It’s been surreal watching CBS’s teevee show Survivor back-to-back with ABC’s LOST on Wednesday nights.
The two shows are sort of inverse but at the same time, parallel to one another.
Besides not having the 2 hours to burn every Thursday night, it became less enjoyable for me to view each show as it stood alone, as it was impossible not to compare them. And sadly, LOST doesn’t hold up well to Survivor 16.
LOST has fallen back into the land of filler and really, that’s the one thing I can say about Survivor 16–no filler.
Anyway, as you know if you follow LOST, the character “Charlie Pace,” played by Dominic Monaghan was apparently killed off at the end of last season. In my mind, it was a mercy killing as he was unquestionably one of the most talented actors in the show yet Darlton & Co. with the exception of a couple of Charlie-centric episodes over a three-year span, let the character die on the vine.as could Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse could have done so much more to make LOST more than what it evolved into. For one, they couldn’t consistently write a good female character if their lives depended on it.
Very much like the character of “Hurley” (Jorge Garcia), Charlie provided some comic relief but his was quite a different style than Hurley’s, so there is a gaping hole left where he was and no amount of plugged in characters from a freighter or elsewhere will change that./end rant
I know that Dominic Monaghan, the actor who played Charlie, dated for a couple years, became engaged, and then broke up with Evangeline Lilly (Kate on LOST) but it doesn’t appear that that had much to do with Charlie’s demise.
Just the same reports, of Dominic out in LA in a club with his arms around a woman not Evie, crying…sounded a bit worrisome.
All the more reason to welcome something very positive in Dominic Monaghan’s life –a gallery showing.
For hard-core Monaghan fans there may be a market but in brutal honestly most of these photo shopped prints are nothing special other than that they were taken by him.
Let’s face it, he has access to famous people. Put a famous person in a photo and voila! You’ve got a photograph of interest. The gallery is full of blurry self-portraits. I know I sound jaded, hell, I am jaded. I did all that stuff earlier in my digital explorations and sometimes I cringe when I look back at that which I have not deleted. I think Dom will continue to evolve as he puts his energies into his photography much like the rest of us amateurs who take it seriously.
Strikingly, there are no photographs of Evangeline Lilly. It bodes ill for their current status, IMO. Though they are exes they could’ve been friendly and that doesn’t seem so given that he spent years with her during part of this photographic period and there isn’t a single shot of her. She is a model, after all and I feel quite confident that he has–or did have hundreds if not thousands of Evie photos in his possession.
