Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers: Debut Album

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers pierced-with-a-guitar heart logo has been my favourite rock logo since first laying eyes on the album cover thirty years ago. I thought that someday I’d get a tattoo of it with a slight modification–just the heart with the guitar piercing it.

I’ve always embraced the heart symbol in myriad forms and, being a product of the 1970’s, I embraced rock culture and at this stage in his career (first album) I would have embraced Tom Petty as well.

Have not yet gotten any tattoos however. For the naysayers who preach that you’ll get sick of your tattoo or “outgrow it,” I’m here to say proudly that thirty years later–I still dig it. I think it may have passed the “you’ll get sick of it” test.
