Survivor 16: Micronesia - Fans vs. Favorites, Episode 2: “The Sounds Of Jungle Love” 2/14/2008
The two tribes learn that a person from each team will be sent to Exile Island where an immunity idol is hidden. As turmoil threatens the fans’ camp, Amanda and Ozzy steam up the favorites’ beach with unbridled passion.
This episode did seem to be defined both on the Favorites and the Fans teams by “Jungle Love.”
As she declared last week, Parvati has attached herself to James with her previous strategy of flirting. The Favorites tribe, the Malakal seemed to make note of it but since they won both the immunity and rewards challenges (Fishing/Scuba equipment and a fishing boat) they didn’t need to yet act on it.
The couple’s alliances will most certainly come into play as the game progresses.
Also making “Jungle Love” right next to the sleeping (or attempting to sleep) castaways were Ozzie and Amanda, both caught on camera kissing and groping passionately. Both Jonathon and Cirie left the sleeping area with Jonathon expressing the wish that they “get a room.”

There’s romance in the air over at the Fans tribe the Airai, as well.
Mikey B. and Mary, though not shown in an as explicit makeout session as Ozzie and Amanda, still were quite clearly attracted to one another and flirted openly. Having lost the Immunity Challenge, a grueling water and puzzle-based event, Mikey B. also came up with several plans and alternative plans depending on how Kathy fared at Exile Island. Being on the losing tribe the winners chose her to go but the Faves also had to chose one of their own to send to Exile with Cirie volunteering to go. Between the two women, four clues were found, but alas, not the immunity idol which Jeff Probst had told them would await them upon a sucessful search.

The Fans tribe exhibited a fracture with Kathy, Tracey and Chet being ostracized from the seven other Fans to the point of building separate sleeping quarters.
With Kathy still clutching the Immunity Idol that Yauman directed her to scoop up off the beach on Day 1, the Fans debated about who to vote off with Fireman Joel taking umbrage at Mikey B’s plans and contingency plans. He argued that between Mikey B’s controlling behaviour and his hook-up with Mary, he was a threat. However, at this early stage in the game Joel and his allies decided that Mary would be voted off, breaking up the strength of the Mikey-Mary bond. The voting clearly showed the Fan’s lack of team unity with five voting for Mary, four for Tracey, and one for Chet, who did very poorly in the Immunity Challenge. Everyone but the “Joel Five” looked very surprised at the outcome of the tribal council vote. There are three couples left–will they continue to be targeted by their tribe members? Stay Tuned.
