I’m an idiot to answer this but I’m an idiot regardless so…
When I was doing the single mom-in-college-working-three-jobs-thing one of those jobs was as a barmaid at an Irish Pub.
Anyway, this pub had more than beer and darts, it had two live performance rooms, one more intimate and the other hall-like. The acoustic-type stuff went into the small room as did open-mike nights (amateurs). One amateur in particular like to cozy up to me whilst I had my hands full carrying drinks, which I hated. His “music” was terrible too. He was a white guy that put on a Rastafarian wig and did Bob Marley songs–badly. One night he came in all coked out. He did cocaine all the time–which I’ve never been into. I hate the behaviour of someone on coke. I can’t recall atm, who said, “If you are an asshole when straight, doing coke amplifies that, making you a bigger asshole.”
This open-mike night wasn’t much different than the rest. The pseudo-Rastafarian coke fiend would always be made to wait to perform until last or second to last because he drove people away–he was unlistenable. So. It was late, I had school early the next day and I was annoyed with his antics as he waited for his turn to go on stage. I dunno, maybe I was PMS-ing or something but a creepy guy can only grab your ass or brush against your boobs so many times before something goes–snap! In this case as I was leaving to go home and he was on stage, “performing,” I passed by his car in the side parking lot. There was an undeveloped lot adjacent and I went over, picked up the biggest rock I could find and hurled it into the driver’s side of his windshield. Nothing happened. So I tried again, this time leaving the rock embedded in his windshield.
It was the first and only time I’ve ever done anything truly spiteful and I paid for it by worrying about the consequences –for years!
